ONEONTA — William C. Yetman, 84, of Oneonta, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at his residence with his wife at his side.
Bill was born on Jan. 11, 1929, in New York City, the son of the late William and Catherine (McCann) Yetman. He married Sally-Jo Watson on May 28, 1970.
Bill was a barber for most of his working career, and for many years he owned and operated the City Barber Shop. He was also a milk inspector for the federal government.
Bill was an avid bowler and was secretary for the D&H League for many years. During his bowling career he had two 300 games. He also enjoyed golf, taking trips on his motorcycle and his annual vacation to Myrtle Beach.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally-Jo Yetman of Oneonta; his children, Randy (Deborah) Yetman of Rome, Ga., Rick Yetman of Tennessee, and Sherry Welter of Georgia; and a stepson, Tony Baird of Ottawa, Canada. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Chuck (Pat) McCann of East Brunswick, N.J.; and two special friends, Mark and Judy Doring.
Bill’s request was there would be no funeral services or calling hours.
