GARRATTSVILLE — George Bardin, 91, passed away unexpectedly in his home Jan. 2, 2013.
Born Aug. 21, 1921, in Washington, Mass. He was the son of George and Yvonne Bardin.
George worked at many jobs in his life from logging with his father to joining the Marines in 1942 to 1946, and was a farmer most of his life. He loved to hunt and fish, and was still an active member of the Beagle Club when he passed.
George was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and his son, Robert Bardin.
George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Lovett Bardin, married June 29, 1952, in Norfolk, Conn.; his two daughters, Cindy and husband Maynard Webber, Bloomingdale, Ga., and Linda Hobby and fiance Mike Rundle, Edmeston; sister, Beatrice Lomento of Torrington, Conn.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Eve, Chris, Lori, Evan Worden, Bloomingdale Ga., Melissa and Jerry Smith, Wyatt, Teven, Hailey and Beth, Chico, Calif., Ryan Bardin, Thailand, Jimmy Hobby and George Hobby, Bloomingdale, Ga., Robin, Jason and Summer Mayne, Burlington Flats. Also survived by Frank and Amy Rock, Mount Vision; plus many nephews, nieces and friends; along with the adopted family of the McLeans.
Private services were held at Johnston Funeral Home and George was cremated at Hillington Crematory in Morris.
Memorial services will be held at Klipnockie Beagle Club in Morris at 1 p.m. on July 14, 2013, a dish to pass would be welcome.
