COOPERSTOWN — Ruby E. Renwick, 85, died unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at her home. She was born on Dec. 23, 1926, the daughter of Ford and Hazel (Knapp) Clark in Westford.

On April 2, 1943, she married Robert Renwick, who predeceased her on April 15, 1999. She worked on the family farm while raising a family. Ruby was a Cooperstown area resident her entire life. She was a mother, a nana, and a grandma, loved by her whole family.

Ruby was an honorary member of the Milford Rotary and the Native Daughters of Cooperstown, a past member of the Hartwick Seminary Company No. 2 Fire Department Auxiliary and a volunteer at Head Start in Cooperstown.

Ruby was an avid fan of country music and square dancing and she loved to read. Her favorite activity however, was simply loving her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gloria Jean Wayman of Cooperstown, Roberta and Frederick Velsey of Hartwick, Gail and Earl Walrath of Cooperstown and Sandy and Robert (Buster) Chase of Cooperstown. She is also survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Carlene Renwick of Schenevus. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, and by one sister, Clara Bogardus of Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home, 28 Pioneer St., Cooperstown, with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier, pastor of the Milford Center Community Bible Church, officiating.

The family will receive callers at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations in Ruby’s name to the Hartwick Seminary Fire Department, Company No. 2, 4877 State Hwy 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
