SCHENEVUS — Eleanor J. Werkheiser, 69, passed away Saturday Nov. 10, 2012, at the Bassett Medical Center after a short illness. She is now with Mathias, her loving husband of 43 years.
She was born November 21, 1943, in Lowell, Ma., the daughter of William and Margaret (Bell) King. Eleanor is predeceased by both her parents.
She was married to Mathias Werkheiser for 43 years.
Eleanor was the Administrative Secretary at Jefferson Central School for many years.
She was a member of the Jefferson Fireman’s Auxiliary and the Harpersfield Town Grange. She and her husband coached and supported the Stamford Little League for many years. Eleanor looked forward too and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many events.
She is survived by her children, John Werkheiser of Schenevus, Wendy and Dennis Thompson of Worcester, Mike and Tracey Werkheiser of Kentucky, and Leann Werkheiser of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Megan, Kayla, Margaret, Jessica, Jamie and Karley; her siblings, William and Barbara King, Rita and Josh Slaughter, Pat and Ed Quick, Marie and Mike Morgan and Marilyn Krich; Aunt Hazel and Leo and Aunt Florence and many nieces, nephew and friends.
Calling hour will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday November 16th at E.J. Skinner Co. Funeral Chapel in Worcester, with the Rev. Ronald Green, MM, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester.
