Mabel F. (Burgher) Jubar
ONEONTA — Mabel F. (Burgher) Jubar, 87, was born on April 18, 1926, in South Kortright. She was the daughter of George and Mary (Hoosier) Burgher. Mabel went to be with her Lord on April 24, 2013, at A.O. Fox Nursing Home, due to an illness.
Mabel married John A. Jubar on Sept. 20, 1943. John predeceased her on Aug. 29, 1999.
She worked at several area businesses and was very well-known for her and John’s management at the East End Coin Laundromat.
Mrs. Jubar is survived by her eight children, Mrs. Audrey E. Wenck of Oneonta, Doris and Chuck Holcomb of Otego, Mrs. Sharon Phelps of Oneonta, Richard and Peggy Jubar of Oneonta, Dolores and Roger Dibble of Hamden, Dan and Rose Jubar of Oneonta, Mary Jane and William Buel of Delhi and Robert Jubar of Oneonta. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Charlotte Burgher of Herkimer; her 16 grandchildren, Carlene and Buddy Rimes of Abbeville, Ga., Donna Bond and companion, Richard Fisher of Otego, John and Leona Shaver of Gloversville, Amy Shaver of Oneonta, Charles Holcomb and companion Pam Currie of Oneonta, Rodney and Michelle Holcomb of Worcester, Polly Anna and Kevin Roycroft of Marlborough, Mass., Leslie Phelps and John Oldham of Marlborough, Mass., Michael and Dawn Jubar of Otego, Misty Jubar and companion Ted Parker of Bainbridge, Roseanne O’Neil of Oneonta, Lisa Jones and companion Mike Wilcox of Morris, Stacy Dibble and companion Scott VanTyle of Hamden, Scott Jubar of Oneonta, Jesse Jubar and companion Shannon Shoul of Hartwick, William and Amber Buel of Delhi; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; with three more on the way; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Jubar was predeceased by her parents, George and Mary Burgher; and her brothers and sisters, Bill, Melvin, Ira and Ernest Burgher, Grace Oliver and Edna Burgher.
Mrs. Jubar was a member of the Word of Faith Church of Maryland.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.
There will be a graveside burial for immediate family only at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, in Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Word of Faith Church in Maryland.
