Foster P. Borfitz
ROXBURY — Foster P. Borfitz, resident of Roxbury, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Margaretville Hospital after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 26, 1942, the son of Charles and Katherine (Sprague) Borfitz at Inwood.
Foster married Adrian Lombardo in December 1964, and raised five children before moving to Roxbury in 1999.
Foster was a man of many trades, U.S. Army, sanitation worker, blacktop worker, school bus driver, Inwood Fire Department member, taxi driver and best known for working for his good friend, Todd Towne Taxi dispatcher.
Foster is survived by his wife, Adrian Borfitz of 48 years; his children, Barbara (Dan) Johnson, Lori (Paul) Rivera, Foster (Violet) Borfitz, Adrianne (Michael) Johnson, Kim (Scott) Archibald; 18 grandchildren, James, Kristina (Robert) Fahrer, Cody, Danielle, John, Foster, Jessi-lyn, Dylan, Julio, Andy, Matt, Michael, Anthony, Michelle, Matthew, Johnny, Marissa; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jocelynn, Maria, Kevin, Isabelle; his brother, William (Mary) Borfitz; and many nieces and nephews.
His special friends, John Bubach, Budda (Tony), Dr. Paul Llobet and staff, Tulio, Margaretville Hospital Staff, Hospice Staff who helped make his last days peaceful, Kathy, Maddy, Mary, Peggy-Sue, Patty, and most of all the Rev. Richard Dykstra and the Roxbury EMS.
Foster was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Katherine Borfitz; and a brother, Charles (Butch) Borfitz.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Roxbury Fire Department, Ambulance Fund or the Catskill Area Hospice.
There will be no funeral services held at this time.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
