GOSHEN — Marjorie C. (McDonald) Conklin, 89, of Goshen entered into rest on Monday, May 6, 2013, with her son, Doug and Michelle at her side, at Glen Arden Health Care Center, Goshen.

Marjorie was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Delhi, the daughter of Harold F. and Estelle (Edgerton) Clark.

She was the widow of Arthur J. McDonald Sr., and Chauncey C. Conklin. She was predeceased by her longtime partner, Robert Thorn; her brother, Burton F. Clark; and sister, Eleanor Kerwin.

She is survived by her three children, Patricia A. Oblak and husband Robert of Walworth, Wis., Arthur J. McDonald Jr. and wife Mary of East Greenwich, R.I., and Douglas H. McDonald and wife Michelle of Port Jervis; five grandchildren, Amy Oblak, Arthur James McDonald III and wife Wendy, Shawn McDonald and wife Colleen, Terrance Oblak and wife Shada and Ryan McDonald and wife Allison; and nine great-grandchildren.

Marge was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, niece, aunt and friend to all. She brought all her energy and drive into everything she did, cultivating friendships and living life on her own terms.

Special thank you to the staff and residents, especially the Health Care Center at Glen Arden for her wonderful care and their support and relationship that meant so much to her and her family.

A memorial service and celebration of Marjorie’s life will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Glen Arden Retirement Center, 214 Harriman Drive, Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glen Arden, 241 Harriman Drive, Goshen, NY 10924; the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553; the First Presbyterian Church, 4 Clinton St, Delhi, NY 13753 or a charity of one's choice.
