ONEONTA — Aldo Gado passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sept. 11, 2013, at 9:23 a.m.
Aldo was a World War II Navy veteran who was very proud to serve his country. He will receive a military burial at sea.
He and his wife, Florence resided in both Green Valley, Ariz., and Oneonta. During the time spent in Arizona, Al was a member of Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteer (SAV) for nearly 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and BPOE 1312.
Aldo is survived by his loving wife, Florence of 71 years; his sons, Theodore Gado and his fiancee and longtime companion, Kathleen Holback of Cortlandt Manor, and Paul and his wife, Beverly Gado (nee Schmidt) of Brentwood, Tenn.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service on his behalf will be held at a later date.
