Richard L. Watson
OTEGO _ Richard L. Watson, 68, formerly of Otego, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, where he was a resident.
Richard was born Aug. 20, 1941, son of the late Robert and Eileen (McDonough) Watson in Cooperstown. Richard was a graduate of Unatego High School. Following high school, Richard enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1964 until 1966.
Richard was a longtime electrician, and member of the International Brothers Electrical Workers Local 325 in Binghamton, from 1966 until his retirement in 1991.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Cinda and Kyle O'Brien of Delanson, and Stephanie Watson of Greene; granddaughter, Hayley; and grandson, Sam.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Rivino.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name may be directed to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10010.
