James Arthur Ford
CHERRY VALLEY — James Arthur Ford, 53, of Cherry Valley, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2013, at his home.
Jim was born in Cobleskill on Dec. 14, 1959, to Philip and Daisy Ford.
He is survived by his parents; his beloved son, Tyson of Evanston, Ill.; his devoted life partner, Karen Hinzpeter of Cherry Valley; and their dog Pearl. He is also survived by his brothers, John and Amy Ford of Hartwick and their children, Jeremiah, Lucienne, Julietta, and Abagail and Joe and Rebecca Ford of Santa Rosa, Calif., and their son, Eli. Jim is also survived by Don and Elizabeth Osterburg of Hartwick and their children, Evan and Sadie. Jim is also survived by his aunts, Patricia and Joe Keegan of Albany, Mary and Harvey Freyholtz of Hines, Minn., and Pat and Orv Wienke of St. Paul, Minn.
He worked for years for his father’s burner service company and as a general contractor and mechanic. He grew up on his family’s farm, which remained his love his entire life. His true love was his family and friends for who he would always do anything to help them in times of need.
He was an avid Harley rider and cherished his “Black Hornet,” a 1953, Harley he rebuilt.
There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ottman Funeral Home in Cherry Valley.
