WAPPINGERS FALLS — Roswitha Carvill, 71, of Wappingers Falls, passed away on Dec. 15, 2012, at the Vassar-Warner Home in Poughkeepsie.
She was born in Silesia, Germany, on Jan. 4, 1941, the daughter of Conrad and Elfriede Marschall.
Prior to coming to Poughkeepsie, she lived in Oneonta. She was an art and elementary school teacher for the City of Oneonta School System in Oneonta. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oneonta.
Survivors include her son, Christopher L. Turner of Annandale, Va.; her daughter, Lisa S. Turner of Wappingers Falls; and a sister, Christine Blanchard, of Florida. Grandchildren include Corydon and Afton Swift-Turner, and there are two nieces.
Good friends include Lindsey and Nicky Turner.
Services are private and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Vassar-Warner Home, 52 So. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
