MARGARETVILLE — Marie A. Fronckowiak, 69, resident of Olivebridge and formerly of Arkville, died Nov. 18, 2013, at Kingston.
Marie was born on Nov. 1, 1944, in Queens, the daughter of Arthur A. and Dorothy E. (Teneyck) Dury.
She graduated from Newtown High School in Queens. Marie was a avid sports fan, and was a huge New York Yankees and New York Giants supporter. She played in women’s softball leagues and also was the scorekeeper for the Fleischmanns softball league. In the 1980s she was assistant coach for the Margaretville Central School softball team.
Marie is survived by her son, Jake Fronckowiak; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Pat Dury; sister, Debra Dury, sister, Barbara Dury, and sister, Patricia Dury; niece, Staci Dury (Jason) Singer, niece, Helen Dury, niece, Katherine Dury (Ronald) Benevento; nephew, Adam Dury; grandniece and grandnephew, Olivia and Michael Benevento.
She was predeceased by Arthur A. Dury, Dorothy E. Teneyck Dury and Raymond C. Dury.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville, with Celebrant the Rev. Steven Scarmozzino.
Calling hours will be held at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.
Committal services will be held at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the sports program at Margaretville Central School, in memory of Marie Fronckowiak.
