Janet is survived by her children, daughter, Nancy Iversen and her husband, Robert W. Iversen, daughter, Teresa Gorman, and son Raymond Gorman and his wife, Rhonda Gorman. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Iversen and his fiancee, Lisa Mitten, Timothy Iversen, Cody Gorman and Taylor Gorman. In addition, Janet is survived by her great-grandchildren, Lucia Berliner and her mother, Susan Berliner, Robert G. Iversen and Mary Iversen and their mother, Tamara Iversen; and several nieces and nephews, Amelia Gardner and her husband, Charles Gardner, Margaret Koryda, Martha McAlister and her husband, Daniel McAlister, Anthony Simonelli and his wife, Diane; and the many children and grandchildren of her nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call to pay their respects at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at St. Mary’s “Our Lady of the Lake” Roman Catholic Church in Cooperstown with Fr. John P. Rosson, pastor, officiating.
Immediately following the Mass, Military honors will be accorded by members of the Sgt. Walter P. Eggleston Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7128 and members of the New York State Military Forces Honor Guard.
Interment will be at a later date in Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn on Long Island where Janet will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Leo.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial gifts may be made to The Thanksgiving Fund for the benefit of the residents of The Clara Welch Thanksgiving Home, 48 Grove St., Cooperstown, NY 13326 or The St. Mary’s Bereavement Ministry, 31 Elm St., Cooperstown, NY 13326.
