TREADWELL — Robert A. Wickham, 84, of Treadwell, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at the O’Connor Hospital in Delhi.

Bob was born on Dec. 22, 1928, in Bovina, the son of Arlington and Sarah (Bolles) Wickham.

He married Katherine Anne Rowe on Sept. 30, 1950. She predeceased him on May 17, 2012.

Bob served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was discharged as a Tech Sergeant, and was the recipient of Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantry Badge, the Army Occupation Medal and the Purple Heart.

After his discharge from the Army, Bob worked in the family business of Wickham Sales and Service in Delhi for 30 plus years. He concluded his working career with Mirabito Fuel Group in Sidney where he was affiliated for 10 years.

He was a member of the Treadwell United Methodist Church, the Delhi VFW, and was a past commander, the Delhi American Legion, and the Treadwell Fire Department.

For a period of five years he served on the Delaware Academy School Board.

Bob loved fishing, hunting and camping, and made many trips to Canada with his father. He especially enjoyed the precious times spent with his family. An animal lover, Bob took great pride in his horses, and his faithful dog, Scooter.

He is survived by his children, Barbara (Herman) Menke of Treadwell, Margaret “Peggy” (Timothy) Regular of Yuma, Ariz., Roberta (Scott) Hudson of Treadwell, and Virginia “Ginny” (Daved) Bell of DeLancey; his grandchildren, Robert, Sarah, Lance, Amanda, Meredith, Lorelle, Mindy, Meg, Bill, John and Nick. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Wickham of Delhi; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Treadwell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Hill, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Croton Union Cemetery, Treadwell.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin, at which time the family will be in attendance.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Treadwell Fire Department or the Treadwell United Methodist Church.
