COLUMBIA, Mo. — Dorothy Fletcher, 88, of Columbia, Mo., passed away Jan. 11, 2014.
Mrs. Fletcher was born on Sept. 10, 1925, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., to Eli and Maude (Auker) Moyer.
She was united in marriage to Lyall Fletcher on Sept. 11, 1948, in Gladwyne, Pa.
Mrs. Fletcher attended Bryn Mawr Nursing Program.
While working in a hospital in Ithaca, she met her husband, Lyall.
She also worked for A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital for a number of years, both on the floor and in the operating room.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a Lion’s Club Lioness and enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was an active participant of the Red Hat Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Fletcher is survived by three children, Richard E. (Charlotte) Fletcher of Rocky Hill, Conn., Judith Lewis of Jefferson City, and Deborah Fletcher of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Gates of Marcellus, Jennifer (Robert) Littlefield of Wilmington, Vt., Heather Liddell of Lone Oak, Texas, Richard T. Fletcher of Wilmington, Vt., James (Jennifer) Lewis of Bedford, Texas, Daniel Stock of Afghanistan, and Leah Stock of Jefferson City; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold Moyer of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Ervin Moyer (Edie) of Sun City Center, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and son-in-law, Jerry Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at Lenoir Woods at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
