LATHAM —Antoinette Chapman, 88, a 40-year resident of Delhi and Oneonta, and most recently of the Albany area, moving there from San Luis Obispo, Calif., passed away peacefully on Friday morning, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospice in Albany.

She was born on July 15, 1925, in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Francione) Ricco.

She married Milton D. Chapman on Jan. 7, 1944, in New York City, and he predeceased her on March 14, 1994, after 50 years of marriage. They first lived on a farm in Kansas before moving to Delhi in 1960.

For most of her life, Antoinette was a homemaker. She had a variety of interests, including crocheting, art work and traveling. She also enjoyed classic movies, dancing, karaoke, as well as going to casinos. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

Antoinette is survived by her children, Fred Chapman of Sidney, JoAnn and Douglas Plotz of Latham, Frank and Decia Chapman of the Philippines, Janette Bray of Berne, Bill Chapman of Seattle, Wash., and John Chapman of Otego. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Joey Ricco of Queens; sister, Rosemarie and Gus Egert of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Angelo; and sister, Angie; and a son-in-law, Anthony Bray.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Jay T. Francis, pastor of Rock Road Ministries, Berne, officiating.

Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home at which time the family will be in attendance.
