Jane Eyre Garlick


Jane was predeceased by her brothers, Harold P. Robinson Jr., and Richard L. Robinson; her sister, Eva J. Galligan; her brother-in-law, Stanley Garlick; and her nephew, Ronald Robinson.

Friends and family are invited to call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta, at which time her family will be receiving guests. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m., with Chaplain Betsy Jay, of the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, officiating.

Jane will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Milford Center Cemetery, Milford Center, later in the spring at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Jane’s family kindly requests that charitable donations please be made in her memory to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820 or to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502.

Jane’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to her neighbors and extended family for helping Jane throughout the last few years in mowing, plowing, delivering home cooked meals, and other acts of kindness. They would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful volunteers at Catskill Hospice and the staff on floors three and five at Bassett for the very kind and compassionate care given to Jane. Special blessings to Dr. Grandrimo, Dr. Chikoti, Dr. Beechy, the Rev. Betsy Jay, Barb Davis, James, Tina, Jessica and so many more who guided the family through difficult times.

The family’s deepest gratitude is extended to the staff at the Bassett Cancer Institute at 1 Foxcare Drive, Oneonta, for their support, love and kindness demonstrated throughout Jane’s care. Special blessings sent to Theresa, Patty and Dr. Laveaux who Jane often referred to as “angels.”
