STAMFORD — Jeffrey J. Corrao, 61, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.

He was born in Hicksville on May 1, 1951, the son of Louis A. Corrao and Hilda (Hawkins) Corrao.

Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Joann Lavelle on March 25, 1972. He joined the U.S. Air Force in September 1971, and was honorably discharged in June 1980.

Jeff was employed for 30 years for Northrup-Grumman in Great River. After his retirement in 2009, Jeff and Joann relocated to Stamford.

He will be remembered with love by his wife of 45 years, Joann; his daughter. Sonya; his sons, Jeffrey and Anthony; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Raia; Joann’s sisters and brother; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Stamford from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, by Father Michael Cambi, pastor, in Sacred Heart RC Church in Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Jeff’s memory to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, and/or the Sacred Heart RC Church in Stamford.

Condolences for the family may be left on the funeral home website

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hall-Tari Funeral Home, Stamford, under the direction of William A. Tari.
