Bruce P. Mowbray Sr.

MARGARETVILLE — Bruce P. Mowbray Sr., resident of Springville, Pa., formerly of Margaretville, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, in Tunkhannock, Pa.

Bruce was born on Feb. 10, 1925, in Bay Shore, the son of Harry and Louise (Lambert) Mowbray.

He married Ellen Hackl on Sept. 30, 1952, in Bay Shore. She died Aug. 7, 2002.

Bruce retired after working 25 years as a printer for Entenmanns Bakery in 1993.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II receiving the Victory Medal, European and American Theatre Medals.

He was a retired member of the Bay Shore Fire Department.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Mowbray and daughter-in-law, Tara of Springville, Pa.; daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Greg Ahmad of Brightwaters and daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Stephen Mihlstin of Bay Shore; grandchildren, Parker and Paris Ahmad, and Rachel and Ethan Mihlstin; caring surviving niece, Mary Mowbray DePhilipee of East Islip.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, with the Very Rev. Michael J. Shank, officiating.

Committal services will be held in the spring in the Margaretville Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Bruce P. Mowbray Sr. may be made to the Bay Shore Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
