ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Francelia L. Stepp, 86, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and formerly of Laurens, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Zephyrhills, Fla.

She was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Hackensack, N.J., the daughter of the late Jay M. and Madaline (Everett) Lull.

Fran graduated from Laurens Central School, Class of 1944, and Hartwick College Class of 1947, with a degree as a registered nurse.

On Aug. 31, 1947, Fran married James Felix Stepp in Laurens. James predeceased her on Aug. 21, 1995.

Her career as a registered nurse was at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, where she later became a nursing supervisor in the operating room and central sterile. She retired in 1984, after 40 years of service.

She was a member of the Laurens Presbyterian Church and the Laurens American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was the former president.

Fran is survived by her children, James E. Stepp of Poughkeepsie, John W. Stepp of Palmetto, Fla., and Debra Stepp of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Reed of West Oneonta; one brother, Bernard Lull of Zephyrhills, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Kohinke on Aug. 16, 1995; and her brother, Gerald Lull.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, with the Rev. Doctor Robert Everett officiating.

Burial will be in the spring in the Laurens Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Francelia’s name may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice, 37826 Sky Ridge Circle, Dade City, FL 33525 or to the Laurens American Legion Auxiliary.
