Edward M. Ward

WALTON — Edward M. Ward, originally from New Rochelle, Rye and Walton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Delaware Valley Hospital.
Edward will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force as a corporal in the 18th Anti Submarine Squad in World War II.
He attended Pack and Business College of New York and worked for Exxon until 1977, returning after 32 years.
He was a Boy Scout leader Troop 3 and a little league coach for the Beavers in Rye. In his spare time he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and mining rocks, and minerals. He was an avid Yankees fan.
Edward is survived by his children, Susanne (Craig) Connelly, Virginia (John) Treganowan, Robin (Ed) Dassler, James Ward, and Frank Ward; his 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his foster daughter, Charlene (Dan) Cornel; his sister in law, Anne Verrill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In 2011, he lost the love of his life, Gay, after 68 years of marriage. He was predeceased by an infant son, Frank Edward.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 16, 2013, in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, with full military honors.
There will be no calling hours.
