ORISKANY FALLS — Kathleen R. Stewart, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital of Hamilton.
She was born on June 25, 1918, in Cobleskill, the daughter of the late Aaron and Sylvia Clapper Roe.
In 1954, in West Davenport, she married Harold Stewart. They relocated to Oriskany Falls in 1972, due to Harold’s job.
Kathleen loved being a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed round and square dancing.
She was a 40 year member of the Pleasant Valley Grange and the Madison United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Harold; her daughter, Margaret and her husband, James Williams of Madison; her grandsons, Jonathan Williams of Brookfield and his companion, Krista, and Michael Williams of Solsville; and a great-grandson, Eli Jonathan Williams.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the Madison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Raymond Lighthall, pastor, officiating.
Spring interment will be in Cobleskill Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
