Dennis J. Lange

UNADILLA — Dennis J. Lange, 59, of Unadilla, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.

He was born on June 29, 1953, in Queens, the son of Richard R. and Kathleen (Murray) Lange.

Most of his early life was spent on Long Island, where he graduated from high school. For the past 27 years, Dennis lived in Unadilla, where he had many friends.

Dennis is survived by his mother, Kathleen Lange of Sidney; his brother, Gary Lange of Sidney; and his sister, Kelly of Las Vegas.

Dennis was faced with many obstacles during his life, none of which ever hampered his love of life and his relationships with his friends. Dennis was always an inspiration to those around him, often reminding us of the everyday things we take for granted and how lucky we all are. Dennis was the type of person who would do whatever he could to help those he loved who were in need, even though he didn’t have the means to do it. He was a very selfless individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own.

Dennis had a passion for music. It was one of his greatest joys in life. He carried with him a wealth of knowledge related to music that often amazed those who talked to him. His love of music was second only to his love of the Yankees, who he followed religiously since he was a young boy.

Dennis’ positive outlook on life and his magnetic personality still earned him friendships with the most diehard Mets fans as well.

Dennis was loved by all who knew him and he will never be forgotten.

Services for Dennis will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Sacred Heart Parish, 15 Liberty St., Sidney, with a reception immediately following at Ermeti’s Community Lounge, Main Street, Sidney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lange family.
