Ella L. Barlow

(Continued)

Having grown up during the Great Depression, Ella had great admiration for President Franklin Roosevelt, a reverence for hard work and a deep respect for others. She was a staunch Democrat and worked many years on the election board for the Town of Milford. She always believed in honesty and fair play. Her love of the land continued throughout her life. She was proud of the farm, Lakeland, where she had lived for the past 62 years enjoying Morgan horses and helping her daughters with the Morgans. Ella was a longtime member of the New York Morgan Horse Society.

Ella is survived by her three children, Patricia of Oneonta, Michael (Kathleen) of Cazenovia, and Sally also of Oneonta; four grandchildren, Matthew (Ellen), Andrew, Christopher (Jenny), and Elizabeth; four great-grandchildren; two nephews, Frank F. (Jackie) Lamport and James (Nore) Lamport of Hobart; and their children and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Frank Foote Lamport and his wife, Mary B. Lamport of Hobart.

Ella’s family wishes to sincerely thank her caregivers from Round the Clock Nurses and the staff of the Catskill Area Hospice.

Donations in Ella’s memory may be made to the Milford Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 359, Milford, NY 13807, or to the Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.

A private service in the spring will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Locus Hill Cemetery in Hobart.
