SOUTH VALLEY — Clifford M. Snyder, 84, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928, in South Valley, the son of George and Irene (Gillette) Snyder. He was a lifelong resident of South Valley and spent some final years at the Otsego Manor in Cooperstown.
Cliff worked as head custodian and bus driver at the Cherry Valley Central School where he was known as “Uncle” to so many.
He lived a full, faithful and dedicated life as a member of the First Christian Church of South Valley. Always so gentle and kind he had a sense of humor that was all his own and no matter what the situation, he could always make you laugh. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Roy May; sister, Mildred and (Herbert) Mabie; his brothers, Fred and Arthur.
Survivors include his sister, Ruth and (Richard) Lotridge; sisters-in-law, Jennie Snyder and Frieda Snyder; many nieces and nephews who all loved and adored him; and many more who knew him as “Uncle” or “Brother.”
Friends are encouraged to call for “Sharing Memories” from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, both to be held at the First Christian Church of South Valley, 1153 State Highway 165, Cherry Valley, NY 13320. Burial will be in the Springfield Center Cemetery, Pastor Terry Brant, officiating.
