FRANKLIN — Evelyn M. Rosa, 98, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at the A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
Evelyn was born on Dec. 7, 1914, in Sidney, the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Alice E. (Youngs) Rutenber.
She married Victor C. Rosa on Sept. 12, 1933. He predeceased her on May 6, 1994.
Evelyn was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Sidney Center Grange.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Alice (Harry) Clark of East Springfield, Irma R. Hall of Treadwell, Dennis (Linda) Rosa of Bartow, Fla., and Steven (Wanda) Rosa of Champlin, Minn.; her sister, Florence Campbell of Mt. Vernon, Texas; and her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Rosa of Sidney Center. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Glenn Rosa; her sons-in-law, Clarence Hall and John Madison; her grandson, Don Madison; and her nine brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at the Franklin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. John Hill. officiating. Interment will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main St., Franklin, at which time the family will be in attendance.
