Carol A. Foster

Carol A. Foster

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — Carol A. Foster, 70, of Englewood, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on April 4, 1943, in Walton, to the late Telford and Beulah (Van Loan) Chambers. In her youth Carol could always be found at her father’s roller-skating rink and bowling lanes. Both of these hobbies she excelled in winning skating competitions and bowling tournaments.

Upon graduating high school she entered the cosmetology profession-opening her own hair salon.

Wedded to Carl Foster in 1961, she started her family of five girls. Without an idle bone in her body she also worked side by side with her husband, Carl and parents, Tel and Beulah at the Tel-Star Lodge (Rainbow Lodge).

Other talents included sewing, knitting and crocheting. Carol loved to travel and go camping with her family.

Though she moved to Florida in 1981, she held on to her roots and visited Walton often to stay connected with cherished friendships. Most importantly Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years; Carl L. Foster of Englewood, Fla.; five daughters, Christine Mac Donald of Placida, Fla., Caryn Foster of Cooperstown, Cathryn Weaver of Englewood, Fla., Carla Foster of Englewood, Fla., Caralisa (Ceita) Zarifis of Rotonda West, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory, 3070 S. McCall Road, with Pastor Gary Clark of the Fellowship Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 in memory of Carol Foster.
