Give the Oneonta Tigers points for creativity.

In losing their fifth straight game and for the 13th time in 14 games _ this one a 3-1 New York-Penn League setback Friday at Hudson Valley _ the O-Tigers had three runs taken off the scoreboard on a baserunning blunder by Carmelo Jaime.

Trailing by two in the sixth inning, Jaime apparently hit a three-run double with two outs that gave Oneonta a 4-3 lead.

But Hudson Valley appealed that Jaime missed first base and it was upheld by base umpire Tim Rosso.

Eric Roof walked with two outs in the sixth inning off winning pitcher Devin Fuller (4-2). John Murrian's double sent Roof to third and Luis Palacios walked to load the bases.

Jaime then hit his double that was scored as a 1-3 groundout.

The Renegades scored three times in the second inning off losing pitcher Luis Sanz (5-4).

Brett Nommensen singled with one out and advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt by Sanz.

Mayobanex Acosta's sacrifice fly to left scored Nommensen to make it 1-0. Elias Otero followed with a single to right and scored on Bennett Davis' double to left. Christopher Murrill made it 3-0 with an RBI double to left.

Oneonta answered with a run in the top of the third. Palacios led off with a single to center and advanced to second on a one-out walk by Matthew Mansilla. Jamie Johnson's single to left loaded the bases and Jimmy Gulliver's sacrifice fly to right scored Palacios.

Rawley Bishop then walked to re-load the bases, but Michael Rockett flew to center to end the inning.

Sanz struck out four, walked two and allowed five hits over six innings. Cory Hamilton followed with two scoreless innings. He allowed two hits, one walk and struck out three.

Palacios had two Oneonta's five hits.

The Tigers (34-38) and Renegades (37-36), both out of playoff contention, finish their seasons with 7:05 p.m. games Saturday and Sunday at Hudson Valley.
