Street Talk March 5, 2012

"I think that when kids are young they should be taught to handle conflict. They should be taught how to handle being bullied or any kind of confrontation."

"I think you can include programs such as peer mentoring with teenagers and mediation as well. Programs like that can be helpful."

"It could be prevented if we have tighter gun control laws."

"I would think acceptance, plain and simple, across the line. Teaching acceptance in the town, in the school and the community."

"It starts in the home with the values you teach. Parents need to be careful of the values they teach their children and need to realize that although they might not intend to put others down, children pick up on those cues."

"They could beef-up security. Metal detectors are expensive but could be worth it if it saves lives."
