In Our Opinion: Cheers

(Continued)

The DMV has sent out paper notices by mail for vehicle registration renewals, and will continue to do so for all New Yorkers. But up until now, everyone has been on his own to remember when a vehicle’s inspection came due. And most people would agree that it’s an easy thing to forget.

Sure, you can read the date on the sticker that’s on your windshield. But after a while, those little stickers tend to blend into the background. You could also jot the date down on your calendar — if you happen to have a calendar for 2015 lying around.

Yes, there are plenty of ways each of us can try to remember when a vehicle needs its inspection renewed. But it sure won’t hurt to have one more. We applaud this helpful, common-sense initiative and encourage all who are able to take advantage of it.
