The Daily Star
---- — I live in the town of New Lisbon. I am a Republican and quite conservative. Having said this, I am also supporting Mr. Ed Lentz, a Democrat, for Otsego County District 5 representative.
Ed is currently a New Lisbon town councilman. I’ve observed that he is always committed to doing what he believes is best for the residents of New Lisbon. He researches topics to be voted on at board meetings, asks pertinent questions and makes constructive suggestions.
Ed is fiscally conservative, but he’s not afraid to invest taxpayer funds when he sees a benefit for the town. Recently, New Lisbon had been considering building a new town barn. Ed worked with a taxpayer committee that recommended repairing and updating the existing town facilities rather than pursuing new construction. I’m sure he’ll do the same sort of thing for Otsego County.
In addition to being a town board member, Ed is also a volunteer for several nonprofit organizations, including The Butternut Valley Alliance and Center for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship.
If you don’t know Ed, please try to meet him. If he comes to your home, invite him in, ask him questions, listen to what he has to say and/or give him your input. Or go to a meet-the-candidates or other activity that he’ll be attending.
I respect Ed Lentz, for his knowledge and for his commitment to the town of New Lisbon, Otsego County and rural central New York. I don’t agree with Ed on all issues, but we are in agreement most of the time. I’m supporting his candidacy because I believe he will do an outstanding job for all the residents of District 5 and all of Otsego County.
