I am writing to urge the District 8 voters to support John Kosmer for re-election as their county board representative.
John has been a consistent, thoughtful advocate in the matters that concern us all — energy conservation (he built, and lives in, “The greenest house in Fly Creek,”) the support of agricultural services (he serves on the Cooperative Extension Board), and home rule with regard to the vitally important issues of gas fracking and environmentally sound economic development.
Kosmer was the only board member to put forward a serious plan to maintain local control over the Manor, exploring avenues that others had dismissed, and he continues to demand oversight in the choice of a potential buyer. Any Saturday morning, John can be found listening — actually listening — to his constituents at the local Farmers’ market. He is principled, smart, thoughtful and energetic, and we are lucky to have him — let’s keep him!
