Otsego County 911 received a call reporting him missing at 3:15 p.m. Emergency services personnel arrived at 3:42 p.m., and the man was found safe about 10 minutes later thanks to a personal transmitter provided by the program.

The service is available in Otsego, Delaware and Schoharie counties for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. It’s also available for children with autism.

This incident shows the service can truly be a lifesaver. We encourage all who feel the service may be helpful to call Ann Marie Thayer at the Alzheimer’s Association at 547-1650.

The $188,000 grant, which the property received from the Department of Transportation early this year, had to be matched by November.

It will allow the Trust to make $250,000 in renovations to the 22-acre park on the western shores of Otsego Lake.

We’re glad to see Otsego Land Trust will be able to improve this wonderful resource.

He is also accused of mistreating dogs in his South Side Dogs kennel.

Popolizio struck a plea agreement with Otsego County District Attorney John Muehl on the second day of a trial.

Popolizio was placed on probation for five years and agreed he would not own any animals in that time. He must also pay restitution. The kennel is an annex to South Side Farms, where miniature cows were bred. The group of nuns mentioned in the case paid Popolizio for miniature dairy cows but never got the heifers.
