Let me continue to serve District 7
I recently shared lunch with a group of seniors at the Cherry Valley congregate meal site. I had the opportunity to talk with those who benefit the most from the senior meals program and I took the time to listen to their suggestions as to how we might continue to provide this service for a reduced cost.
Later in the day, I met with a local business group and we discussed ideas for economic development for Otsego County. I encouraged them to look at green energy as a growth opportunity and stressed the importance of planning for our future.
After that meeting, I drove back to Roseboom to meet with the town’s financial assistant and others to review the progress being made on seven grants the town is working on for infrastructure repair. It was a busy and productive day in the life of a county representative.
When I first ran for county rep, I stated that good communication is the cornerstone of every good relationship and pledged to you that I would listen to your concerns and keep you informed about county business. In keeping with that pledge, in March of this year I held a well-attended town hall meeting where we discussed the major issues before the county: MOSA, the Manor, mandate relief and the new microwave system — and the progress we were making on each program.
I also pledged to you in October of 2011 that I would work tirelessly for the residents of our county, and with your support I will continue to do so. I’ve truly enjoyed being your county representative and look forward to working for you again in the coming year.
