Polls last week showed that President Obama’s approval rating is up since the death of Osama bin Laden. Do you think this will help him in next year’s election?
"I think so, because of the way he handled it. I think he did the right thing and that he'll get credit for it."
Jim Rundblad, lumber mill worker, Oneonta.
"I don't know. There's a lot more to it, Taxes, a war, the disasters in the country and gas prices. It's hard to tell."
Ron Alwine, painter, Delhi.
"I happen to be a supporter of Obama, and I do think it will help. Each president during their term has been held responsible for the bad things, but has also gotten credit for the positive things that happened during their term."
Laura Novick, waitress, Laurens.
"Probably not. I think there's too much time between now and then. There are opportunities for him to fail."
Kris D'Agostino, web administration, Oneonta.
"No. First of all, it's a smoke screen. No one's discussing the economy, unemployment, three wars and why a lot of known radicals have his ear." Andrew Bache, self-employed, New Berlin.
"I think it will help him. It's something everybody has wanted for years. It just happened to be during his presidency and I think it will help in his re-election quite a bit."
Harry Holbrook, school bus driver, Milford.
