Over the course of several years I have always and continue to have respect for and enjoy reading The Daily Star. Having said that, I do, however, strongly disagree on the “In Our Opinion” column concerning the Cooperstown parking problem. In my opinion, the Star is 100 percent incorrect.
“Change.” The word seems to be the popular word these days. Sometimes somethings are better left alone. Yes, life is full of changes. No one knows better then I that nothing stays the same forever. However, in this case, leave well enough alone. The merchants have a short amount of time in Cooperstown to make a living. It’s unfair and unnecessary to expect this “change” not to create a real problem for them.
It’s easy for some person to sit in office and say “Wow, I’ve got a great idea to make extra money.” These people don’t stop to think about the “little man” trying to make a living for themselves and their family.
Take the meters down. For once, “pass” on the word “change.”
