The Daily Star
---- — It’s hard enough to get people out for live music these days, but the ultimate show of disrespect for those who do is to start the show late. When a start time for a show is advertised, come hell or high water, the show should start AT THAT TIME.
The promoter has no idea whether the attendee only has time for one set, or if the show time is too early or too late for their circumstance. If you advertise a certain time, and the show starts an hour or so late, you have alienated those who made the effort and paid the price to see the show. If they CAN wait that long, they’re now disgruntled, at the very least, because they got there early to catch the show, hopefully enjoy the entertainment and now their mood has been altered due to the inconvenience of mismanagement.
If Oneonta wants to be known for art and music, I’d like to suggest to the promoters to have a modicum of respect for those of us that want to enjoy live music and start the show on time!
