Parenting Imperfect: No trained monkeys in my house

The only problem with this column-writing gig is that there are weeks when my life is not very interesting. I don't know if it's a late-winter funk or a rare calm spot before a storm, but it's been quiet around here.

Parenting Imperfect: What's in one word on a sticky note?

Given my shorter-than-short attention span, I've never found New Year's resolutions to be especially useful. Plus, now that my memory is crammed with the minutia of the kids' lives _ like where mittens are, current shoe sizes and who is allergic to penicillin _ I can't remember anything about my own life anymore.

Parenting Imperfect: Maybe we should call him Dude of Dirt

I don't know how he does it. Somehow, within the span of an eyeblink, the Dude goes from a relatively clean 2-year-old boy to the living embodiment of Peanuts' Pigpen. The Dude and dirt are attracted to each other like politicians and pork.

Parenting Imperfect: Transitions not easy " for two of us

Given that I write these columns two weeks before they hit print, by the time you read this, the angst will have passed.
