June 13, 2008 07:01 am My predecessor frequently wrote that an important part of our jobs here at the Social Security Administration is providing public information services. We find our jobs are much easier when people have accurate information on which to base some of life's important decisions. To get the word out, I need your help. I want you to call to arrange for me to speak before your organization. I can speak before small or large groups, and we can tailor our topics based upon the audience's needs and interests. Much of our current focus is in explaining SSA's ever-expanding online services found at www.socialsecurity.gov. We can also address topics ranging from the history of Social Security, to the various benefit programs, or we can just do some basic pre-retirement planning. We've done presentations for service organizations, employers, social groups, advocacy groups and even high school and college classes. We can meet with your group during the work day, weekends or in the evening. We can present information either alone or in combination with other agencies depending upon the format desired. As you can see, we are quite flexible. Social Security affects most of us eventually and it is a topic that is sure to have relevance for every member of your group. If you are interested in accepting my offer, just give me a call at 432-0940. Kemp Baratier is district manager for the Social Security Administration in Oneonta.
