WORCESTER _ The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, "The King and I," will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26, at the Worcester Central School. The show, presented by the school's music department, features Dominick Reisen as the King; Virginia Born as the English school teacher, Anna Leonowoens; JoAnn Golja, Lady Thiang; and Karen Gorsch and Bill Close as the young lovers, Tuptim and Lua Tha.
Songs from the show include, "I Whistle a Happy Tune," "Hello, Young Lovers," and "Shall We Dance?" The show is directed by Elliott DuBois, music teacher.

Eight local girls were entertained at the first Welcome Wagon party for engaged girls in the private room over Jerry's Restaurant.
Guests of honor were the Misses Anita Norton, West Oneonta; Phyllis Benedict, 34 Academy St.; Jean Dibble, 20 1/2 Division St.; Joan Uhlig, 21 East End Ave., Leona Van Hoesen, 44 Spruce St., Shirley Conrade, Winnie Hill Rd., Joan Bailey, 263 Chestnut St.; and Elaine DeVito, 459 Main St.
Gifts and prizes from the Welcome Wagon sponsors were presented to the girls. Refreshments were served and slides of different types of floral arrangements for weddings and receptions were shown.
Displays and literature concerning photo coverage of a wedding, wedding invitations and announcements, places for honeymoon trips and various silver patterns were points of interest around the room.
Mrs. Ronald Penkoff is the Welcome Wagon Hostess in Oneonta. She was assisted in the party arrangements by Mrs. George Zimmerman.
