ONEONTA "" Using the "Bring the Mountain to Mohammad" concept, Hartwick Athletic Director Tom Greene reported Thursday, that Hartwick was looking into the feasibility of moving Binder Gymnasium from its scenic perch overlooking Oneonta to downtown Oneonta as part of the downtown renewal project.

Not only would this help beautify downtown, but Hartwick officials are also hoping it will increase their attendance at basketball games on snowy winter nights.

50 years ago

April 1, 1958

Bresee's Traveling Team has been bowling in area leagues and going to state and national tournaments for 13 years. Included in the lineup are some of Oneonta's best women bowlers. The team has rolled in national WIBC tourneys in Port Huron, Mich., Columbus, Ohio, and Syracuse, and hasn't missed a state tournament since 1946.

The team includes Eva Rhodes, captain Hazel Stilwell, Hazel Wright, Bea Baldwin and Esther Fraats.
