DAVENPORT "" Tracy Cammer, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Larry Cammer, was elected queen of the Davenport Fire Department recently in a contest conducted by the Davenport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Bernadette Pietrefesa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pietrefasa, was first runner-up.

Terry Lee Ballard, daughter of Mrs. Theresa Ballard, and Melina Ballard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ballard, were also contestants.

Judges were Mrs. Susan Case Hofmeister, United Presbyterian minister; the Rev. William Ripley, United Methodist minister; Mrs. Ripley; Mrs. Nancy Brandow; and Mrs. Joan Schmidt.

50 years ago

April 4, 1958

Fred Cannistra Jr. of Oneonta and Doug Francisco of Delhi caught their fair share of rainbow trout at Catherine Creek yesterday.

Francisco hooked the big one, a nine-lb., 24-inch beauty, and Cannistra took a five-and-six pounder. The pair reeled in seven altogether, using nightcrawlers, between 7:30 and 10 a.m. about four miles south of Deckertown.
