COOPERSTOWN — Glimmerglass Opera board chairman Tom Goodyear has announced the reappointment of Paul Kellogg as general director of the company for a three-year term. As general director, Kellogg is responsible for the artistic and administrative activities of the company.
Goodyear explained, “This is a vote of confidence. The board wanted … to show its appreciation for his eight years of service.”
Commenting on his reappointment, Kellogg said, “ … I look forward to … the next exciting phase of the company’s development.”

Students at the Oneonta Consolidated School District will have the opportunity to see a “Spacemobile.”
The space science lecture demonstration unit will visit the Oneonta schools for two days in October. The program is sponsored by the National Aeronautical and Space Administration.
The “Spacemobile” is a specially designed panel truck carrying equipment and materials utilized in space science lecture-demonstrations.
Included in the “Spacemobile” complement of equipment are mechanical and electronic devices with which the lecturer demonstrates basic principles and shows how these principles apply in the programs and projects for peaceful use and exploration of space.
The unit will first visit Oneonta schools Oct. 8 at which time students from the fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be able to participate in the program. Three lecture demonstrations will be held at the Center Street School.
On Oct. 11 the unit will return to Oneonta to host students from the Junior High School and as many as can be accommodated from the science classes at the Senior High School.
