SIDNEY — Procurement programs charted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration represent aero-space industry’s most significant growth trend, according to John C. Youmans, assistant general sales manager at the Scintilla Division of the Bendix Corporation.
This was one of the observations made by Mr. Youmans at the opening session of the Division’s 1962 sales meeting. The five-day conference is being held this week at Hanson’s Hotel, Ouaquaga Lake, with 75 members of the Division’s field sales organization and home office staff in attendance.
Mr. Youmans discussed a five-year outlook for Scintilla’s various product lines, forecasting a continued annual sales increase. He emphasized that NASA procurement, involving the nation’s manned flight programs, is an increasing market and represents a big growth factor in the near future as the Saturn, Gemini and Apollo programs come into being. Scintilla, already one of the leading suppliers of electrical connectors and special cabling for missile and space applications, is in a favorable position to participate in this expanding market, he said.
