MORRIS — The Morris Alumni Association will hold its 100th annual meeting tonight, July 1, in the gym of the school.
“We think we are the only alumni association in the state that has existed for 100 years,” said Juna Richards of Mount Upton. “We know we are the only one in the county.”
Mrs. Richards was a member of the class of 1941. As a third grader, she moved into the “new” building in 1933. Before that she attended classes in the Grange Hall.
The “new” school was the third on this site. The Lewis Rutherfurd Morris family donated half the cost of the building, said Joyce Foote, a member of the 100th alumni meeting committee. The school bears his name.
