Mr. Johnson has been connected with Lincoln University for a period of 55 years, as professor, president and trustee. He is president emeritus of Lincoln University.
He received a theological degree from the Princeton Theological Seminary in 1897.
In 1935, Princeton awarded him an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity. His three brothers, two sons, and one of his grandsons, graduated from the university, while two other grandsons are now undergraduates at Princeton.
Mr. Johnson walks to church and many a time can be seen on Cooperstown’s Main Street or in the post office.
