COOPERSTOWN — Ronald F. Bouton of Fly Creek was elected President of the Central New York District of the New York State Rural Letter Carriers’ Association at the meeting of the group held Sunday at the Milford Fish and Game Club.
J. Paul George of Oneonta, was named vice-president, and John Cawley of Ilion, secretary-treasurer.
The Central New York District is now composed of 12 counties, Cayuga, Chenango, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Schoharie, Fulton and Montgomery.
Proceeding the business meeting and election of officers a chicken barbecue was served to 125 members and guests by the Milford Fish and Game Club.
Otsego County Carriers were hosts for the picnic and meeting, attended by Claude Olmstead, state president and national committeeman; John Malloy, state vice-president; and Howard Helmer, chairman of the license plate committee.
