September 08, 2008 02:44 pm Vanessa Van Vranken and Jason DeRocco were married May 17 at the Cornwallville Church at The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown. The bride is the daughter of Robert and JoAnn Van Vranken of Edmeston. The bride is the granddaughter of Carl and Carolyn Lindberg of Burlington and John Van Vranken of Edmeston. The groom is the son of Rose Cooper of Ilion and David DeRocco of Daytona, Fla. Pastor Barry Davis of the First Baptist Church of Burlington performed the double-ring ceremony. Organist was Katie Boardman. The bride wore a diamond-white empire-waisted beaded organza gown with a semi-cathedral train that fanned out with bead work and embroidery. The bride and her attendants carried matching hand-tied bouquets of blue hydrangeas and white roses. Maid of honor was Jessica Cardot. Bridesmaids were Stacey Wetherbee and Alicia Powell, sisters of the groom, and Donyelle Losee. Best men were Matthew Gregory and Nicholas Dier Ushers were Bradley MacMaster, Brent Benjamin and Gerrit Van Vranken, brother of the bride. A reception was held at Fraziers Gables in Oneonta. The bride is a 2002 graduate of Edmeston Central School and a 2006 graduate of Nazareth College in Rochester. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is studying analytical chemistry. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Mount Markham Central School and attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is employed by Salix Pharmaceuticals in the Research Triangle Park, N.C., as an information systems coordinator. The couple live in Pittsboro, N.C.
