Kathleen Spencer Pontius and Matthew Paul Stansberry were married Aug. 2 at The Farmers' Museum chapel in Cooperstown.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pontius Jr. of Oneonta.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stansberry of Akron, Ohio.
The Rev. Paul Messner officiated at the evening wedding ceremony.
John Pontius, brother of the bride, and Michael Poulsen, cousin of the groom, presented the readings. Music was provided by a string quartet, and Steven Markuson was the soloist.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white satin strapless gown with her sister's fingertip veil. The bride carried a bouquet of wildflowers.
Ashley Aitken-Davies and Sarah Pontius, sisters of the bride, were the matron and maid of honor, respectively. The bridesmaid was Katie Hayman.
Best man was Nathan Stansberry, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Adam Saylor and Sean Djuricic.
A reception at The Farmers' Museum Reception Center followed the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Vassar College. She earned her master's degree in communications in 2008 from the University of Oregon and is in the doctoral program at the same university.
The groom, a graduate of Kent State University, is an editor with TechTarget, an information technology publishing company based in Needham, Mass.
The couple honeymooned on the southern Oregon coast, and live in Eugene, Ore.
