Maddux, Glavine, Thomas elected to Baseball Hall of Fame

They join former managers Bobby Cox, Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa to be inducted in July

COOPERSTOWN — It looks like it will be a peach a year for Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame -- a Georgia peach, to be precise.

Former Atlanta Braves pitchers Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine -- along with retired Chicago White Sox home run hitter Frank Thomas (who is a native of Columbus, Ga.,) were elected today by the Baseball Writers' Association.

Last month, baseball’s 16-member Expansion Era Veterans Committee chose former Braves manager Bobby Cox, along with ex-managers Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa for enshrinement in the Hall of Fame on July 27.
